Four names that people call me other than my real name:
- Em or "M"
- Emmers (hence my blog URL)
- E-dog (hi Imran!)
- Emzo. The story behind this is that Blackhawks analyst Eddie Olczyk frequently says, "It's never a bad play to get the puck to the net." I always quote this when I think that hockey players aren't shooting enough (which is often). Olczyk's nickname is Edzo so Adam started calling me Emzo.
Apparently there is also a gift shop in the the UK by the same name. (Behold, the power of Google!) |
Four jobs I've had:
- Cashier
- Personnel clerk
- New product development portfolio manager
- Financial analyst
Four movies I've watched more than once:
- The Bourne series
- My Sassy Girl (the Korean version, not the American remake)
- Last Holiday
- Forrest Gump
Maybe when I regain the motivation to run, I can try out the Forrest Gump workout. |
Four books I'd recommend:
- Pay It Forward
- Anything that was written by Tess Gerritsen
- The Joy of Cooking
- Mind Your Heart
Four places I've lived:
- Lindenhurst, IL
- Champaign, IL
- Urbana, IL
- Chicago, IL
Notice a theme here?
Incidentally, my junior high science teacher Mr. Brown used to say, "If you want to live someplace with BORING weather, go to Florida or California. If you want to live someplace with INTERESTING weather, live in Illinois!"
As a child I would have been reluctant to admit that Mr. Brown was right, but he is.

- Mendoza, Argentina
- Hobart, Australia
- Tachileik, Myanmar
- Talinn, Estonia
Four places I'd rather be right now:
- Anywhere in Polynesia
- Las Vegas
- A bakery
- At the Shedd Aquarium watching this little critter:
- Sushi
- Chocolate
- Pizza
- Macaroni and cheese
- Foie gras
- Raw oysters
- Brussel sprouts
- Hot dogs
Four TV shows that I watch:
- The Americans
- Say Yes To The Dress (I know, I know, this is a guilty pleasure)
- Barefoot Contessa
- Law and Order (in syndication; I like the original series more than SVU or Criminal Intent)
My favorite detective duo during the show's run. |
Four things I'm looking forward to:
- Testing out some new holiday recipes
- Planning my next vacation
- Someday breaking my 5K PR
- Springtime (already!)
Four things I'm always saying:
- Yay!
- I'm hungry
- Craziness!
- What are your thoughts?
Hey! I just did a modified version of this series on my blog - but changed it to "3 Questions" since I sometimes do a 3 Question post oriented around me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, that mac & cheese pizza photo is not helping my motivation to eat healthier. ;-)
Anyway, I never knew you loved Say Yes to the Dress. Did you know in 2012 I ran the TC Rainbow Run and met Monty?! He ran the race that year, and since I won the costume contest (surprise), I ended up watching the TC Pride Parade with him in VIP. He's super nice, and even encouraged me to get out and dance pre-parade, where everyone was doing the electric slide in the street.
I love all of your posts that share more about you! Would love to see your responses to all of these "4 Fun Facts" too! You've probably got some very interesting tidbits. =)
DeleteAren't those pizza pictures the worst from a motivational standpoint!?!? Maybe we could do a healthed-up version of the mac & cheese pizza, where we could use whole-wheat crust, whole-wheat pasta, skim milk, etc. Yay or nay?
I actually watch the NYC version of SYTTD more than the Atlanta version, but that is so cool that you met Monty! Amazing that you got to watch the TC Pride Parade with him in VIP, too! Talk about great connections. Monty seems very nice on TV so it's cool to hear that he's so nice in person, too! CONGRATS on winning the costume contest there - what were you wearing!?!?
Loving this post! Let's grab some mac & cheese and chocolate pizzas and go to the Shedd to watch the otter! And I am totally taking this post and doing it myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Nina! Absolutely, please do this post, I would love to hear all of your responses! Things like these are my favorite in the blogosphere because it's so much fun to learn more about everyone. =)
DeleteYES! I am ALWAYS up for pizza of ANY kind and going to watch adorable animals. Let's DO IT!!!!!!! No better way to get into the holiday spirit than that, for sure!!! =)
So glad to hear more "about" you - its so funny how we can get to know each other through our blogs, but only know the parts we share, like running, etc. I had no idea you were so well travelled!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Lauren, thanks so much for tagging me! I always love learning more about my fellow blogger friends, so I had a blast reading your tidbits! Likewise - I didn't know that you were so well traveled, yourself, and that you lived in Santiago! We'll have to exchange more travel tales the next time we catch up, would love to hear more about your adventures in Vietnam in particular! =)
